Brand Profile
Despite being celebrated by galleries & championed by a devout underground following. Many may not instantly recognise the name Pieter Janssen. However, mention his alias ‘Parra’ & more importantly show his work. It’s likely, more people will identify the famous Dutch illustrator, painter & animator.
Best known for his surreal bird-like characters & distinctive use of saturated colours. Parra has become a respected multimedia artist, with solo exhibitions spanning Asia, USA, & Europe. Whether it’s clothes design, drawing, painting, animation or sculpture, Parra creates an enigmatic & seductive style that defies easy categorisation.
Parra lives & works in Amsterdam & once had his studio in Patta’s original building. In fact, even the most devout sneakerhead might not know that as well as creating numerous collaborations together, Parra also designed the original Patta logo.
Having now collaborated with many different brands Parra has become a household name in both sneaker stores & art galleries around the world.
